Episode 1: Maru-chan's Sibling Rivalry!/Maru-chan's in the New Year Mood!
Original Airdate: January 7th, 1990
Tensions rise between Maruko and Sakiko when a new notebook enters the picture. Then, Maruko's peaceful New Year is threatened by responsiblities looming over the horizon.
It's been long-awaited and fraught with delay, but I've decided I'm going to re-release old episodes in HD individually and then batch them later. Where's the SD version, you ask? Well, the SD version is already out there and has been for quite some time as a torrent. Once I catch up to where the batches left off, I'll be releasing the SD episodes again. Finally, one more thing I can scratch off my list of things to do!
Heya, does this mean you won't be uploading new episodes (96 and on) for a while?
ReplyDeleteNope, not at all, the newer episodes will still release as normal on Sundays (provided that's not a Hai! Step Jun week or otherwise)
DeleteThank you for your hard work! I have a question, however, somewhat unrelated. Do you know where I could watch episodes of the second series? It's not difficult to come by some of them online, but when trying to watch them in order it's sort of a pain. As a fan of the first adaptation, I love that you're dedicated to subbing them, and it's been amazing to watch! Don't overwork yourself, either!
ReplyDeleteThe second series really is a pain to track down ever since all the episodes were wiped from YouTube. It's a real shame because I think when the second series started, it really was at it's best!
DeleteUnfortunately there was never any big releases done for the second series. Instead of big collections, every DVD release has been limited to 5-6 episodes. While somebody worked out that you could theoretically get every episode on DVD, that's a whole lot of money to shell out! As such, nobody's done it, least of all me.
There was a window of opportunity over 5 years ago when the series was on Netflix Japan to start nabbing them then, but unfortunately, it has long since passed.
Two weeks ago, I wanted to rewatch the early episodes on youtube but I couldn't find any. You can't imagine how happy I am that you're reuploading the early episodes, and they're HD even! I can't ask for more. Thank you so much for the pleasant surprise and be careful not to overwork yourself!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your hard work
ReplyDeleteMaruko old tv series or manga are very hard to find online. I'm looking everywhere for the engsub version (not engdub or chinese), full 142 episodes. Thank you again ❤️.
